Semesters usually last from September to December

Dynamic yoga
This dynamic form of yoga stretches and strenghtens both the body and mind.
Tuesdays, Apaja
at 9.30 - 10.45 am
Hatha yoga
Hatha is more relaxed and easier than asthanga.
Thursdays, Apaja
at 10.45am - 12pm
Happenings and excursions
We regularly visit interesting places and get to hear interesting
introductions by knowledgeable people in many of them.
During the latest years we have, for example, visited the orthodox
monastery of Pokrova, learnt how to cook Georgian food and went to see
the Theatre museum of Helsinki.
In addition to excursions, we organize different kinds
of themed gatherings and studia generalias.
Typical themes have been different cultural topics in the fields of arts,
music, theatre, cinema, history, poetry and cuisine.
We have got to know the local cultures and culinary delights
of the home countries of our numerous international members.
If you have an interesting place to visit or a topic to discuss
on a cultural evening, please don’t hesitate to suggest it to us!
Charity activities and work
In addition to its usual activities,
Agora supports several different charity organizations.
Our charity group gathers at the homes of its members once a month.
We have organized for example
excursions to visit the street children of St. Petersburg and
several charity concerts and different exhibitions on subject.
The profits of the charity concerts have been raised for the following organizations:
Hospital Clowns, Helsinki hospital for the children and youthi
St. Petersburg’s Homeless Children’s Day Center (from 4 to 20 year)
St. Rita Kindergarten, Salvador de Bahia, Brasilia
Rinnekoti, Espoo
Collection of clothes, etc, knitting, baking, papier-mâché, music entertainment:

Disabled children in Rinnekoti, Espoo The Empty Bowls -events 2006, 2007 and 2008, Helsinki
